:oops:Hi everyone,
looking for an expert to put together my bike light i have purchased all the parts, but dont feel confident to go the final round.
Bought a Mag light, a heat sink and driver from Dewerchel that will power 3xp7 led's (900lumen each) also bought the reflectors. switch in the mag needs wiring up. Basically i'm up to my neck in it can anyone out there take this on with confidence and how much would it cost. I need to buy a battery that will power for 2 - 3hrs. Any suggestions welcome
Thanks

Dave

As nobody else seems to have answered yet...

I'd rather suspect that the monetary threshold that would make it 'worth it' for someone with full time employment to do somebody else's DIY project, you'd be better off buying your own commercial lighting system.

It'd be nice to be proved wrong here, but I'd be surprised if most people who are already fully employed are going to be all that tempted to finish a DIY build for someone else!

Just give it a shot- you seem to already have the parts, just try experimenting or asking more questions on the forums. I've found people to be pretty helpful for information.

Thanks your right need to take the plunge hope I don't cook the whole deal cheers. Dave

If you're worried about destroying things, start out small with a couple of cheap XREs and some $1 DX drivers. Build a little test circuit without the housing.

I've found that it's only when you try cramming all the bits into a tight housing that things get delicate.

Though maybe this thread would be worth checking out: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=100070
