My wife accidentally spilled water on my Ultrafire WF-139 charger:mecry: It was plugged in and sitting idle when it got wet.

Now it no longer charges. The LEDs turn on and just stay green, it lo longer detects a cell present and charges.

Is there anything I can do to try and revive it?

I only have RCR123 cells, so now I am like this... :candle:

You might be able to rescue it.

First of all, don't power it up while it could still be wet. You need to clean it and dry it first.

If it has screws and can be dismantled, do that first. You will want to get it completely dried out inside and you need for air to circulate.

Secondly, get hold of a big bottle of deionized water or distilled water from a drug store. You need to rinse it really thoroughly to remove any dissolved salts or other impurities from the water that was spilled on it. If it has an LCD display try not to get that wet, but otherwise don't worry about drenching it. It won't be harmed.

After the thorough washing, you need to leave it to dry completely in a warm place for about a week. Don't be impatient, it needs to get completely dry before you apply power again. That's why opening the case will help, it will allow any moisture inside to escape.

After it's rinsed and thoroughly dried, apply power and hope for the best.

I would get some isopropanol alcohol to wash it with as it will mostly evaporate. Get the highest percentage you can find most stores sell 50% and 70% but some chemical places you can get 100%. After rinsing it off... you can use a hair dryer and at a distance so that doesn't heat up metal parts much... to accelerate the drying of it. I would let it sit for a few days afterwards. Make sure you plug it into a power strip that has a circuit breaker and switch on it just for precaution when you *test* it. It is possible you may have to take a toothbrush to it when washing if there got debris in it to loose it up.. don't wait to work on it as rust will want to show up quickly and that can be big trouble.
