A salesman came in today pushing a Radio Shack 14 LED light that weighs at much as my 80 lumen inova and makes a great hammer/skull masher but rather feeble light.

I would go with the Photons first, best of the breed and wouldbe the nicest gift. However you might also try taking with Dae of Quality China Goods. Perhaps he might have other lights he could have engraved for you from his wholesale site, perhaps an Ultrafire.
