Here is a photo of the new AAA arc light

Thanks for the photo. I was waiting for one with the anodization applied. Looks great. It's obviously based on the Infinity, but seems to have the advantages of smaller size, more knurling, and brighter (atleast claimed) light, along with a polished reflector. Since CMG didn't listen to our suggestions, I guess they're going to luck out. They still have my respect for their original design, though. Can't wait to try one.

Curious... what does LLC mean?
I've seen several flashlight makers with this in their name, but not producers of other products. ???

Gransee,
Is that little ArcLight actually any brighter than the Infinity white? If yes, is there some way you could give a clue (or comparison)?
BTW-the physical size looks just right.

However, the battery life is a lot less than the Infinity (5 hrs vs 41 hrs) because of the smaller battery and the increased brightness.

Actually, I wouldn't quite NEED 41 hours runtime on a true keychain light anyway.

Well, according to Brock's review of the excellent CMG Infinity, it sends 20mA to the Nichia 5600.

The Arc sends about 47mA to the same Nichia 5600.

Combine this with the reflector and I think the reviews will show the Arc to be brighter.

However, the battery life is a lot less than the Infinity (5 hrs vs 41 hrs) because of the smaller battery and the increased brightness.

Thanks for the question!

Is it much brighter than a CMG LED? What are the advantages over the CMG?

You can almost buy 2 CMGs for the price of the arclite. What justifies the cost of the arclite.

Probably, the need to recover the high start up cost. Otherwise your right...the price may come down with time.

What justifies the cost of the arclite

Well, company start-up costs aside, from the end user`s point of view I would have to say that the fact that it is much smaller, lighter and brighter than the infinity probably (hopefully) justifies you spending more on one.

This picture should tell the story.
No need to tell you which one is the Infinity.

I just got the Arc Flashlight late this afternoon... I haven't had a chance to even open a new document in my text editor to make a page for it yet.

As for other product reviews, I've posted three of them in the last four days!

That "lady" you speak of... is a ProMetric-8 photometer & beam profile analyzer.

Turns out the instrument has to be custom manufactured for me, so I'm in the process of tearing out my laboratory and rebuilding it to accomodate the new fixtures. Since I have so little space to work with, I have to rebuild my lab around the ProMetric, instead of building the ProMetric around my lab like what is normally done.

I've narrowed my realistic choices down to three locations: screen off about 1/3 of my living room, screen off about half of my bedroom, or demolish the lab space I currently use so that only a computer and the new instrument occupy the space.

With all the other equipment I have, the last option (of using the existing space) is not possible without getting rid of the macro video system and most of my conventional test equipment, and it cannot be expanded without blocking one of my doors.

Stupid tiny inner city apartments!

After demolition, the next step is installing a computer & work table, installing test equipment, running cables, and preparing as large a test target as is possible.

Let's just say I won't be out drinking this weekend.

Actually, I "slightly" rewrote phrases to a couple of existing songs... I'm not much of a songwriter myself.

And no, I'm not singing. I woudn't even do it in a shower with 6 feet of sound dampening insulation on all sides.

I prefer to let others do the singing for me, courtesy of the CD boombox I keep under the table.
