Yet another HID noob question...

In post #19 of "Titanium L35 update" http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=193703 mtbkndad mentioned that HID lights have a break-in period:
One thing I will say so that he does not have heart ache when the L35's ship is to remember the HID's have a break in time before they reach full brightness.
The reason this is important is because if you compare a brand new L35 with a properly broken in N30, the N30 will more then likely look brighter until the L35 has gone through it's break in period.

I know some of the basics of HID (run a couple minutes minimum, avoid quick restarts, etc.) but had not heard this before.

Having just received my first HID (POB) last week, I'd like to know if there is anything I should be doing with it, beyond keeping it fully charged and using it properly, to ensure it works as well as it can.

My, admittedly cursory, search did not turn up any additional information on CPF on HID break-in. Any guidance?

Thanks!

No special use required WDG. Just use it and enjoy it. :)

The main reason that the quoted discussion took place was so that a new L35 owner wouldn't be flabbergasted during the slight possibility that it wasn't quite as bright as his N30. During such a scenario, giving the L35 bulb sufficient time to break in would be required for best performance with regards to output and tint. (color temperature)

Thanks, you've eased my mind.

I'm definitely enjoying it, though it's not a light I get to use much in the city. I get out of town from time to time, so I'll have it along and let it "stretch its legs" when I do.
