Good evening gents. I have a couple of the 18V work lights that came with a few of the hitachi tools I have bought over the years. I have kind of forgotten about them but recently picked one up and was using it a little. I was reminded at how decent of a beam they were for an incandescent. I thought it might be great if there was a good LED drop in. I have used the 3W LED PR2 base bulbs from superbrightled.com in many of my other lights but they do not have an option for the 18V unit. Amazon is of course awash in options but I would rather not try a half dozen of them and still be disapointed.

So, I am looking for a quality LED drop in PR2 base bulb that will handle 18V. Three to Five watts with at least a couple hundred lumens would be nice. Any ideas?

Well, to follow up and close this out, barring any suggestions I selected a couple LED drop in "bulbs" off of amazon and gave them a try.

I dropped them in my lights and they seem to work just fine. There is a hot center with lots of throw and a very even and smooth wash also. They definitely are an improvement over the incandescent , which had many artifacts in the beam.

I would say the only thing I don't like is the color temperature. There is a slight greenish hue. But, for taking the dog out in the yard at night it works just fine.
