Has anyone tried holography with their high powered lasers ?
a few years ago i was about to set up a small hologtaphic studio but i was inexperienced and the supplies and apparatus was too expensive back then. also because none of the apparatus or supplies are available in Malta so i gave up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I tried once but I was unable to make white light holograms. I could make the back illuminated ones but they need the original beam path setup in order to view them.

I've done it, but found it to be quite a space hog in my home so had to give it up. The current (cheap) state of the art is to use high power red diodes for quick exposures. The greenies that most use here have to short a coherence length to be of much use in holography. It's certainly fun to do, and if you have an unfinished basement you should give it a try.
