Not sure if this is in the right place but:

OK so I can't afford a new Ti light. No problem- I'll install my own P4! It took some time to find the cojones to unscrew my LT but once apart it wasn't all that hard. Forgot to take pics while in the midst of the project, sorry. It fixed the slightly green tint of the original UX1K (which I didn't really care for) and appears to be about x2 brightness of the luxIII.:poof: Beamshots later...

OK beamshots- these were taken about 6ft away from unifinshed drywall ISO100, F3.2, shutter 1/50 for first 2 and 1/20 for last 2.
Low underexposed;

Hi underexposed;

Low and Hi respectively; the low shot was overexposed to show color shift...

I'm new to these kinds of pics, so any advice would be appreciated...

So, did you have to make any physical adjustments to seat this properly?

Modifcations to the reflector?

Model P4 used?

Do runtimes vary from the original?

Beamshots?

I like my 27LT, it is a great light, tough and ready for anything, but sometimes wonder about upgrading it.

Thanks for giving us the pictures of your upgraded beauty.

From the pictures it looks like a straight emitter swap. The reflector looks unmodified.

OldGrey: As i was looking at the insides of the light, I realized the only thing I had to do was properly seat the emitter and I'd only have to take about .010" off the end. I also took a very light reamer and bored where the emitter pokes thru for a no-touch fit. It was a USWOH from PhotonFanatic so no cheap knockoffs! As far as the beam goes, it didn't change all that much except for a bigger spot and of course more spill. Runtime on high with primaries appears to be ~3 hours to 50%. I'm going to run another set of batts to confirm though. I've got a convention to attend today but I'm taking beamshots tonight. Thanks for the compliments!
