Hello everyone, thinking about getting a KT-1 Turbohead to put on my C2, is it worth it, will it make a drastic difference? I usually use my malkolf and RA 170T

I have searched for beamshots tec but didnt find what I was looking for.

How about bulb options, I would rather run it with 2 CR123 so is the N1 bulb my only choice, how mauch voltage does the N2 use I take it its the 9V option. WHat are my other choices, MN15? does it run on 6Volts?

Can you tell im a bit less clued up on incans, any info is great even a link to some informative threads, I have read the stickys too.

The KT-1 on your C2 is an excellent choice if you want more throw.

I have these DX 3V CR123 cells that fully charged are 3.3~3.4V and two of them produce some serious throw on the stock N1 lamp. 20K lux at 1m and I get way more with a little more overdriving.

NOTE: AT 6.5V~7V input these N1 lamps might not survive, but you can get the 9V counterpart and use 2 IMR 16340's for similar performance.

Thanks for the info, I only have one big incan light, my 2D ROP which is nice but the beam could look better, I know Surefire do a great job at getting there beams spot on

Bigchelis, are you using lithium iron phosphate to overdrive an N1?

And where did my big long informative post go?

I had the KT1-HA w/N1 running on my C2...didn't like it...then I moved it to my C3 w/ MN15 for a few days...didn't like it. On either of these, it makes the light too front-heavy, especially if your used to using it in the cigar-grip fashion. The BEAM of the N1 is very nice though...I Loved it! So, I sold my KT1-HA, got a few other lights over the next few years, and got a KT1-BK.

Nothing wrong with the KT1-HA...just, it makes the light all wonkie/off-balance...the P61 put's out a nice, white beam, but I never did like the 20 minute runtime. It's fine for a dedicated "defense light" though.

If you want a good incan thrower, I'd try for a KT1-BK on a G2/6P body with an N1 for starters. Then, you can either go rechargeable with the A14/AN14 or go to a 9V turbohead by adding an A19 with a MN15/16, or , even further, get a 9P + A19 and run the 12V Turbohead lamps from the M4.

As far as the lamps go, from my experience, the 9V lamps (M3/M6) all put out oblong beams (which you will either love or hate), while the 6 and 12V models put out very tight hot-spots, which is what I prefer. The N1 is a nice thrower in a small package, while the MN60 (12V/M4) will typically out throw the M6 one's just due to the tighter hot spot.

Lot's of info, but it'll stick with ya eventually. Hope this helps Arbath.

Thanks AOW, that did help. I saw a good deal over at the MP so I thought I would get some more info before I bought it, Ill keep my eye out for the KT1-BK to go on my 6P first.
