How did you remove your JetBeam Jet-III M clip??

Just got a JetBeam Jet-III M - my first "real" flashlight. I really like it - I'm amazed by what these little things can do!

I did, however, take an instant dislike to the clip - not at all comfortable in my hand. Several have commented that it's removable ...

... and it clearly appears to be removable ... but it's not something I can just do with my hands (y'all might be stronger than me) ... and nobody seems to be saying how they actually removed it.

There's no place to get a solid grip with pliers, and I'd rather not scratch or otherwise damage a brand new light.

All I can think to do is ...
(a) put a little oil on the slot the clip goes into AND

(b) place the battery tube on the edge of a workbench with the clip pointing up and banging it off with a hammer or rubber mallet
OR
(c) turning the tube the other way around, catching the clip on the edge of a workbench and pushing down on the tube.

Am I missing some obvious trick that those of you with more experience (yup, I'm new) have discovered?

Thanks for the help,
george

Mine is difficult to remove, but using my thumb on the bottom and pressing hard enough to hurt it will come out. Another option would be place the bottom of clip on some non maring surface and using a rubber mallet tap the body down. Should work but I'd say ther is more risk of scratching it.

Been there, done that. Dirtech has it right. If you try to muscle it off by hand be careful. Mine took a lot of force and when it finally broke loose I cut myself nicely. For that reason I wll NOT tell you exactly how I
did it. 😗

Dirtech's method sound far safer.....

@dirtech, @GreySave - thanks much for the replies.

I got the clip off!!

I decided to give it one more try by hand before breaking out the tools ... put on a thin work glove (thanks for the warning, GreySave) ... couldn't get it off pushing straight up ... but wiggling it side to side while pushing up did the job. It did take significant force ... a slow creep out of the slot ... but it did come off.

Now I like everything about this light - it SOOO much more comfortable to handle.

Mission accomplished!
