I have been making some homemade LED nightlights and I would like to add a photocell. I pulled some standard 5 watt nights apart that have photocell BUT they did not work. One did nothing and the other flashs. Any ideas how do to this?

Thanks

Not too clear on what you are trying - are these the lights that come on when it gets dark? And you want to mod them with an LED instead of incandescent they have? Are these plugged into 120 VAC? Or are you wanting to make a rechargeable night light that uses daylight to recharge?

I think what Ken was referring to is adding a photocell to the nightlights and have existing photocells that are not working, he needs to know what to look for for replacement

Yes sorry for not being clear. I have some basic 5 watt xmass type bulb nightlights that plug into the wall. Want to use the photo cell in them to turn off the AC 120 LED nightlights I have made.

Thanks
