Just curious how you folks carry your HID's for daily use and/or special situations?

I'd enjoy seeing how you do it.

Here's my setup with an explanation of why this works for me.

The Beast II has an integrated front bezel end carry strap lug that is bolted on and a rear one piece
metal swivel ring with integrated carry strap lug for mounting the included Spec-Ops carrying strap.

I had a custom carry strap mount fabricated for the tailcap end to replace the one piece metal swivel
ring that came stock and that was removed by me with heavy straight cutters.

The new carry strap mount is easily removable, adds double lugs for the strap attachment, and most
importantly (and the reason for the change) a nylon strap on the end for those times the Beast needs
to be hung, carried, supported, or secured by a carabiner, rope, strap, or 550 paracord.

The strap allows the light to be carried many different ways, over the shoulder, across the chest, across
the back, etc,. The back portion of the strap can quickly be unbuckled and flapped over when you need
the light to tail stand.

There are times when we set up camp in the woods and hoist the Beast high up into a tree using 550
paracord. The long running (12) LED's are used for nice even illumination of the entire area. Also used
as a secondary securement point while night snorkeling, on the boat, strapped to a pack, etc..

Here are a few pics.

My wife with the Beast over her shoulder and ready for a night walk. The Beast balances so well we can
walk/hike for 2-3 hrs and forget about it. The LED's are usually on for general navigation, and as shown
in the pic, it's in perfect position to move around or turn on the main HID.

Very nice mod, Seery!

That looks like a great practical sling for that light. It's almost like it was made for it. I would also do that if I was lucky enough to own one. The ones in B/S/T are sure looking good.

The Spec-Ops nonsense provided with The Beast is far too tight and rugged for me. Not to mention the strap holes on the light are about 1/2 the size of the strap it self, making the fitting very difficult.
IMO Surefire chose Spec-Ops to make the Beast strap for a reason. Yes it's very rugged indeed,
but compliments the build of the Beast quite nicely.

Say... if I'm keeping my Beast would you be able to make another one of those custom tailcap strap thingies for me? (;
It was a one-of and because of this was quite costly. Would be more cost effective for you to print
out my top pic and have it sewn locally.

Is there anything else you can sell to be able to keep your Beast? This is one tool I'd never sell and
hope things work out for you so you can keep yours as well. The lifetime warranty is IMO worth the
price of admission on a light like this.
