How do you carry your laser?

I used to carry my 5mW laser pointer in a pocket, but I'm looking for some better carry methods. I recently picked up an AtlasNova 30mW+ and I'd like to keep it in good shape, provide some protection against drops, and keep dust out of it.
The pointer comes in a nice foam lined metal box but the box is a bit large and heavy to carry around all the time.
I was thinking of something like a cigar holder, with foam padding inside, but I wanted to see if anyone has come up with anything better.

If you're going for cigar tube, that's a great idea.

I keep my AtlasNova laser in the case it came in.
I keep my enVee 100 in an OtterBox 2 Cigar Caddy. It's great because it's waterproof and very protective, though large.

I'd never thought of going for a cigar tube. Those generally aren't padded though, at least the ones I've had.

I was thinking a tube would have to have some thin foam installed. This particular laser pen I'm thinking of is skinny (about the diameter of a AA battery) so it could probably fit into a tube with some foam:

The Otterbox 2 is awesome! Waterproof to 30 meters, crushproof and airtight...and foam padded too!

Can you post a link? What I found when I searched for that was a 2-cigar holder, which seems a bit wide for EDC. Though the 2nd area could be used for spare batteries, I guess...

Ok, I went and ordered an otterbox on spec - I hope it's long enough, the lasers are much longer than your average stogie. We shall see when it arrives...

The Otterbox2 is waterproof, crushproof and air tight.... The EnVee will fit into it perfectly. One spot for a Cigar is where the EnVee will go, the other spot for a cigar is where you can put batteries and the keys and dongle. Check out the picture above..

A good comprimise would be a cigar with bubble wrap lining the inside. More convenient than foam and takes up less room.

Oh man, I should have waited before ordering, oh well.... I didn't spend too much on the boxes.

I should maybe look at mounting some of the sapphire windows I bought in the box when it comes, and see if I can rig a way of activating the laser while it's in the box.
