About to order some Nyogel for my SF L1 ... and I got to thinking ...

1) how the heck do you clean the male threads inside the tailcap? Or do you only the the female threads on the body?

2) do you remove your o-ring when you clean your light or leave it on?

Thanks!

You can leave your O-rings on while you clean/lube your threads as long as you don't use any petroleum type products. Rubber O-Rings can be sensitive and you can shorten their life by using the wrong cleaner/lubricant on them. There are a number of threads on lubricants, just do a search.

Surefires (in my experiance ) are not as sensitive to needing cleaned and lubed. Wipe the threads off, (male and female) and place a very thin coat of the nyogel you are purchasing on the threads and O-ring and your done.

Good advice from Hitthespot.

And as he says, there have been plenty of other threads on this topic. This one is closed.
