How do you put the SC51 to the headband?

I know SC51 is not a headlamp, but I think this question is related to headband so it's more suitable to be asked here.

I have a H501, and just bought a SC51. I'm not sure how should I put the SC51 into the rubber holder of the headband.

Do I need to remove the clip? Should I start from the head end (which is bigger) ? I tried 2 times but didn't continue, afraid of breaking the rubber holder.

I don't have a SC51, but I do have a H51. I think the battery tubes are the same diameter. However, the H501 has a smaller tube diameter. So, the silicone holder for the H501 will be smaller than the H51. I was just able to check this; my H501 is very loose in the H51 silicone holder. I'm not surprised to hear you're having trouble getting the SC51 into the H501 holder, I think the light is probably too large for the holder. If it's going to work at all, you'll probably have to remove the clip. But I would suspect it's too small.

You might be able to get an H51 silicone holder from Zebralight.

Sorry I didn't make it clear: there is a silicone holder in the SC51 package. It is slightly larger than the H501 holder, but I still have difficulties to make SC51 into it, mainly because the clip and the bigger head.

Ah! I did not realize it came with the holder, that's useful they sent the holder as well. In that case I'm with vtunderground. I think the clip has to come off.

You don't have to take the clip off... I've shoehorned mine into the holder and it works just fine with the clip on. It's just harder to do. One advantage of doing it that way is that it keeps the light more solidly in the holder so it's less likely to change position unexpectedly. As a headlamp though, in a pinch it's better than nothing, but in general, it's pretty poor as a headlamp.
