How to get Sino Union Starlites?

I know I saw a post that gave this information, but I couldn't turn it up with the search engine. (I _did_ get to enjoy Craig's hilarious "death and funeral" reports, with pics

) Could someone, er, enlighten me? They might make good stocking stuffers.

From my understanding (after several e-mails with Mr. Lee) there is no US distributor. I was thinking about ordering a dozen, but transfering funds to Hong Kong and shipping brought the price up to still a good buy but not as good.
So my thoughts turned to buying in bulk and retailing what I don't need/want but maybe going with just bulbs. From Craig's review the bulb is good (not great) but the body is wimpy. I'm sure most on this forum have a 2-cell light that could take a PR bulb

. Any interest? This is my market research. Any input would be welcome. Thanks

A few weeks ago Horace Lee wrote me:
We are concentrating in whole sales.
The minimum order is 100 PCs quantity.

That's not just what the doctor ordered! So for me it's not of any interest to buy these lamps. And as I live in Europe it would also cause some shipment cost to buy them from you.

Why bother getting them from Hong Kong? You can get the bulbs at http://www.techass.com/el/versalux/pr2/pr2.php and put them in any 2 cell light you choose.

Thanks, Quickbeam. I recently looked at this page because of the Versalux Module but was not sure wheter the PR" is really the same bulb.

I believe the pr-bulb (with step-up) that technology associates sells is actually of much better quality that the sino union lights.

Can anyone tell me the relative brightness of this bulb as compared to say, a 2C Mag w/krypton bulb?

You're joking, right?

Apples and Oranges. The LED is much dimmer, but lasts much longer on a battery change.

I've heard that as well.

Has anybody here tried one of the techass versalux pr based models? How (well) do they work? That seems like a really good deal for $13!!! Is it like the versalux module kind of regulation that puts out near constant output? It says it works down to .7 volts, so I am led to believe so.

No, no voltage regulation in the pr-base led, but still VERY impressive output. Someone did a review of this...Craig? Was it you?

Wasn't me. I didn't do it, I swear.
I've tried the Sino Union bulbs, but I have yet to see one of the Eternalight ones.

OK, so the Versalux are Nirvana, but above my stocking-stuffer budget. I thought I remember reading that I could order 6 of the Sino Union things for 50 bucks or so; I was thinking of putting one in each stocking on the mantel. Did I not read that here
