Hey all, one of the most common types of care that most CPFers have to do is lubricate the O-rings of the goods they unload their money on, aka flashlights. :nana:
Found this website (I've got no relation to it ) that gives a good write-up on the process and how to go about lubricating your o-rings. Also states that why we should not use alcohol to clean off old grease. Basically everything that has got to do with o-rings and lubricants. Worth taking a look IMO.

A few excepts:
''A lubricating-type grease is a viscous "gelled" material in which a liquid (oil) is usually suspended. Both the gel and its liquid are specially formulated to meet certain use requirements: temperature, separation...''
''And once the O-ring's surfaces are uniformly lubricated, any more grease you apply will neither improve the O-ring's sealability nor further reduce the coefficient of friction! ''
Hope you find the information useful.
