Hello all,
I'm looking for some help...
I have in the past built my own lights for cinema. I am now thinking of building some LED lights...
I've seen some very high powered LED lights at NAB. But all of them were approaching the $5000 mark for a nice one. (The equal of a 650 watt tungsten light.)
I find this to be a ridiculous price to pay for something like that.. Considering you can buy a 650 for about $350.
I am at best an amateur with electronics. Thats being nice. More of a tinkerer. But who doesn't love to tinker.
So first, my idea is to buy a heat sink approximately 12 inches x 10 inches and install 10 or so of the cutter 7up xpg mpcbs on to it.
Something similar to an aquarium light I saw on here.
I would like to use one large driver instead of the buck pucks. or maxiflex...
Does anyone know what the best solution to run Around 70 or more of the xpg's.?
Also I would really like it to be able to run off of 1 or 2 IDX batteries (14.4volt 93 watt hour), as well as off of wall power. So AC and DC.
Is there a driver that that is possible with? Dimming is important as well.
The Coollights.biz website has LED light with this option. But they are low powered leds...
Second I would like the kelvin rating to be around 5600... or daylight.
I have heard that some poeple have had trouble with the xpg's having a greenish tint to them. Is this a problem with a particular bin?
I'm not super knowledgeable about bins...
Thank you to anyone in advance that can help.!
Cheers,
Gitersonke
