Hi,

When I first got my M1 I was amazed. It just looked awesome! But compared to my other cree lights it has an awful tint IMO and I think I slightly damaged the dome of the cree ... looks like a scratch ... kind of :mecry:

Does anyone have experience in swaping emitters in this flashlight? Or can anybody give me some hints?

I don't want to ruin this great light :poof:

Regards,

Tom

Screw out the led module with a pair of needlenose pliers, drill a small hole in the plastic centering cover surrounding the led (near the edge of it). Lift the plastic cover and desolder the wires going to the led. Pry out the round star and clean the heatsink. Use Arctic Silver epoxy or similar product to fix the new star with the emitter centered by the plastic cover. Keep pressure on it as the epoxy cures. That should do it. CREE P4 WD are sold quite cheap by DX and others. You do need a small tabletop vise to do this smoothly.
