How's The Weather There ?

Very sunny.
Projected to hit 90 degrees-F today.
With one day left until the official end of Summer, it appears to be making up for lost time. Week after Labor Day, we're expecting a massive heat-wave. How lovely.

We had 89f today and the next three days will be over 90F. With the shorter days already our ac can handle it easily. Well that’s with the additional support of our 14000 BTU portable dual hose AC.

Let's see, here today it is high 60s in the PNW. Rather overcast and possible rain later on. I personally love it when it rains, the smell of fresh rain outside is so nice. Plus it makes my lawn look less dead, so that is helpful.

Present forecast puts the region on a pleasant downward trend starting with the weekend - next Wednesday may turn out to be downright pleasant with a high of 88F.

Our weather is changing from Summer Hot to Fall Hot. The difference? Less humidity. The 90s actually don't feel as bad.

This area is ~10 weeks with no rain. The yard crunches under my feet.
Got a fraction of an inch the other day, sparing the lawn from last sprinkler's broke and I can't be bothered to replace it harshness. Back yard on the other hand is clearly suffering from the rear neighbor's decision to all but murder their own backyard tree for the benefit of their new curious 4 sides of the roof solar array.

Local water system asked for voluntary cutting back on watering due to recording levels of pumping. Some of their wells, while testing safe, have turned colors.

So the responsible thing to do is to stop with the watering... has that happened? Not that I can see.

My city has 3 stages of watering restrictions. Stage 1 is in effect May to October more or less automatically ... and absolutely no one takes notice. City has recently posted signs along thoroughfares to the effect of we're in real stage 1 restrictions now, to little apparent effect. My neighbors continue to flood irrigate their lawns during off days and no one seems to care - and while it might be amusing to call code enforcement, those shenanigans are apt to escalate quickly.

In county so no code, in that regard, to speak of.

When they suck the aquifer dry they'll **** & moan about "who could have seen this coming!"

The ignorant around here (areas where groundwater is still plentiful & clean) are taking _no_ steps to keep it that way. They fail to appreciate how fortunate/precious/powerful that resource is.

And now we're in the midst of that heat wave. 😓 Yuck. I went for a ride a 10 last night and came back soaked. July is back with a vengeance, although it appears it'll be short-lived. We'll be in the 60s and 70s by next week. Hopefully until next year,
