Oh yeah, weather.... Summer came back for two days. Including this morning when I needed to run errands, outside.

Recent weather has been unseasonably warm for this time of year. Mid 20's (C) going up to 27-28C (maybe as high as 30C) today/tomorrow, then cooler and rain into next week. It gives a chance to go biking a bit longer, among other outdoor things. Leaves are taking longer to
change.

Dave
Actually turned out to be a couple of days of 30-31C, plus "humidex" into mid-30's, dropping
from friday on (and lots of rain).

Just this past week, we began to get autumn caliber weather. Overnight, over the next week or so, it's supposed to get sub-50ºF. Which will be a nice change from the nights in the 70s and 80s that occurred over late summer. It'll be good, at long last, to cool the house down.

While freezing night are still weeks away, winter's not far off. Can't tell, yet, whether it'll be a harder or easier winter. Nearly all of the "song" birds and other migratory birds seem to be gone. Just today, I saw one lone robin; they've been scarce, the past few weeks. Saw a few Canada geese this past couple of weeks, but most of the flocks seem to have already left. Not a hummingbird to speak of.

Beautiful crisp fall morning..
Just looked at my forecast and we currently have a wind chill number.
Tomorrow night is supposed to be even cooler with a chance of sprinkles,, betcha there's a possibility of flurries.

Seems like a couple days ago I was bitchin about the 115F heat index & stupid high dew point.

THAT'S THE SPIRIT! Enjoy some apple cider, pumpkin pie and popcorn balls! Go jump into a pile of leaves! (But not while holding a wet sucker.) Take a ride on a hay rack. Walk through the woods. Blast animals and eat them. Breath in the fresh, crisp autumn air! Decorate for Halloween. Maybe do a little early Christmas gift making or shopping. Do some home canning. Cut and stack firewood. Winterize the home, vehicles and tools. Inventory your batteries, evaluate your charging capabilities. Make ready for power outages and blizzards and ice storms. Oh, there's a LOT TO DO IN THE AUTUMN! :)

Time to start the snowblower, while it is still warm enough to work on it comfortably.
Also time to oil up all the moving parts.

Edit:
Snowblower's done. I pulled it a few times, and then went with the electric starter.
Topped the tires off with some air, one needed more than the other.
I added some fuel and then some additional stabil.
I'm told that stabil helps to clean the carburetor.
At first it would only run on 3/4 choke, then 1/2 choke, later 1/4 choke.
That's good enough for government work.

Earlier, I mowed the front lawn, primarily to pick up the leaves that have fallen. One fifty gallon trash can, and two paper leaf bags full.

OK, that's enough for one day.
Football at 1:00 The Giants will probably lose again today. Thankfully I am not emotionally attached.

45 low-- predicted 60F high.

66F inside the house. I turned the heat on to take the chill out.
Oh boy, and now it starts.
I tried out my heater when temps were still in the 70's to ensure it works. I don't know what is in the system that the AC does not spew out but turn on the heater for 20 minutes and .....achoo! Every year, same thing. The same day I ran the AC with no ill effects, turn on the heater and suddenly sore throat, itchy eyes, runny nose all over again.

Anyway it got cool here last night and with the windows open it felt great. Yet the house was 64 when I woke up so time to take the chill off.
"Achoo".

Incinerated dust and particulate matter. I'll open the windows and don my P100 for a few minutes when I fire mine soon. I've been sneezing, etc. enough already of late without that!
