Summer cold front means fantastic weather up here.
Mid 70s' clear sky and what matters the most....Dew Point only in the upper 40s':clap:
Almost has a Fall like feel to it, thank you Mother Nature!!!!

Slightly giddy about it

My weather app predicts 0.7 inches of rain in the next 24 hours. I think that Debbie will arrive tomorrow, but it won't be too bad.

Tuesday evening, we got 3-4 inches in a couple of hours. Flash flooding occurred in the town that I work in, and probably many others. Driving home, the right lane of a 6 lane highway (three in each direction) was under water by 3-6 inches. Traffic was moving at 8-10 mph, when I noticed a lot of brake lights ahead. Then I remembered there is a dive in the road to go under an overpass. Figuring that it was now a lake, I got off of the highway, and followed my nose to a workaround.

I asked siri to take me home, and hoped that she was updated enough to re-route around flooded/closed roads. I had considered going to a diner and waiting the storm out, but the prediction was that it was going to last for hours.

This one is moving 4mph this morning.
Folks, that's a lot of rain being dumped over those areas for hours and hours.
Let's all cross our fingers and toes for those people to make it out of the massive amounts of rain fall expected over the next 12 hours.

Many of those areas are hill country and farm country so flash floods and massive erosion is likely.

Better today. Bit of rain. Not too bad at all. Off and on.
Apparently postal service hired a new delivery guy who can't read an address. (Even one properly written on the package.) Got that slip that I can pick up my package at the post office. But of course, not the nearest one only 8 blocks away from me. A further 8 blocks straight down is another post office. (Yeah, no clue why they decided to do that. Apparently both locations have been where they are for decades. Both look cheap and rundown.)

Needed a new umbrella. Bought a decent one at a local pharmacy. (Wasn't raining until I walked just past the pharmacy.) On my way to get the package I was hoping it wasn't my signed, leather-bound, First Edition of "Self-Consciousness" by: John Updike. (Unfortunately passed away in Jan. of 2009.) Was hoping it wouldn't be that because it's the heaviest item I ordered, and I was walking the whole way in the rain.... One guess which of the handful of packages I'm waiting on it turned out to be. Thankfully the rain stopped on my way back. Just as I was about to pass that same pharmacy again.

We are forecast to have some of that this coming week. I call it "September weather in August weather".

Today, was going to watch my local meteorologist vid and she had a 'dew point forecast' for the week as the opening picture,
I didn't need to watch the vid, the low dew points said it all__:)

Forecasters in my area hardly mention dew points unless there's a way to inject impending doom because of the low dew point. "And in today's weather farmers lament over the devastating crop losses after yet another night with low dew points destroys millions of apples at harvest time, now back to you Barb." "Well geez Tom, that climate change sure is causing catastrophic conditions these days"......

Used to be "well folks with dew points like these coming up open up those windows and get out your exta blankets because this means nice, cool nights with crisp, low humid days for the upcoming weekend, now back to you Jim". Thanks Linda, looks like good news for the folks picking apples this year".

We had a touch of fall last few days. An unusual low brought a storm down from PNW. We got a touch of rain to valley and dusting of snow in mountains. High for the day 70's, the low a welcome 59°. Chilly morning, tossed on a hoodie, thou wearing shorts and flip flops never budged. Back to 90's and a forecast 100+ next week.

It's actually been surprising nice! Normally, I despise Summers in August; in New York City. But yeah, several days in a row we've had pretty mild weather.

Cold and wet. I made the first fire of the season yesterday. The forecast is for high 70s then into the 80s later this week.
It has been getting into the low to mid 60's at night, and the low to mid 80's during the day. But with the night time temps dropping I think I may pick up a couple duraflame logs so that I am ready to have friends over to sit around a fire pit.

This Labor Day weekend I'll be camping in the Pocono Mountains with my son and his girlfriend's large family. It will be a glamping expedition.
