Actual quite pleasant it was, weather wise, a few hours ago on Oct. 2nd 2024 here in NYC. I just hope we haven't lost anyone due to what's being reported as the 2nd worst hurricane in Florida history.

It was winter for two days but summer is back. Frost one morning and 80's two days later. Fall is back on the menu three days from now.

Normal temperatures and humidity, thank god. The sun is shining without a single hint of smoky haze I complained so much about. Even the mosquitos that were out in force last week seem to have subsided.

Days with highs in the 60s and 70s, now, for the most part. Overnight, temps are regularly getting down into the 50s and 40s. Only a couple mornings near the freezing mark. Typical autumn weather.

Could use more-frequent rains. It's been relatively dry this year.

Weather the last few days here has been unseasonably warm. We got a thunderstorm with short torrential downpour. Yesterday (Hallowe'en) was warm enough for a bike ride (hit +23C or higher!). Outside at 8pm was warm and humid, a bit surreal. Now it is cooling down and rainy. Good thing I got a bunch of leaves raked up before this; I use plastic garbage cans instead of paper leaf bags, just packed another 7 of them, and it's not done yet...
