How's The Weather There ?

good lord they say we may get some snow id guess a inch and omg the grocery's stores was insane i was shocked what do they think is going to happen lol.. all i wanted was darn parmasan cheese lol

Panic Buying. Happens all the time. People refuse to prep., then freak out when a storm is predicted to come through their area.

We're expecting 5-8 inches of snow tomorrow, but of course it may be as little as 2-3 inches. Fortunately it will fall on a Sunday, and during the day, so there won't be much commuter traffic blocking the snow plows.

The streets have already been brined, and pre-salted, but Monday, we'll see a high of 23F and a low of 11F. Therefore anything that is wet will become ice. With temps that low, salting will lose its effectiveness.

If you ever saw grandma make ice cream, she used salt to help freeze at a lower temperature so the mixture can still be stirred at what would ordinarily be turning it into a solid.

When I drove a municipal plow I always preferred it to snow Saturday night or Sunday because less traffic made it easier to clean roads since traffic didn't pack the snow. That was back at a time when 4wd vehicles were rare. Jeeps and pickup trucks would be about all there were on our roads. Nowdays nearly every grocery getter has AWD, 4WD or front wheel drive, which is a boon for safety but a bane for snow removal since nearly every idiot can go out and pack the snow.

We'd toss a 1% salt/99% sand mixture out on asphalt pavements and 90% salt/10% sand on bridges and over passes.

im excited if we get snow im doubting we will im so south but its been a crazy winter i have no local tv station so weather is hard to me to find out for sure but im between columbus ga and dothan alabama

i liked snow well dont miss thr snow in cleveland ohio that was just way to much that lake effect is no joke

5 degrees here in Cleveland at the moment. Cars are all hard starting. Wind chill values well below zero.
The dog's paws get iced up and she comes back in quickly; anything above 10 and she'll stay out for a half hour or so like it's a spring day.

It's 12-degrees F. outside.... and windy!
That's just obscene! I do not live in Alaska!

Currently negative -9F actual temp,, that's not the wind chill number

    High: -2 °F

Factoring in the wind chill right now, it feels 80F colder, right now, than last Friday

I'm a mile or so North of the Gulf of Mexico, and it started snowing around 7:15 this morning. It is projected to continue until around 7:00pm tonight, then a hard overnight freeze sets in. It hasn't snowed like this in the swamp since 1963. the alligators are wearing parkas. Expecting six to seven inches before its over.

Soon to be The Gulf of America. 😀
This far south, we don't bother much with the whims of those rich, ivory tower types. Much less politicians.
It's always been the Gulf of Mexico, and as far as I'm concerned that's what it will remain.

Me and those waters could care less what's decided by whatever empty suit happens to be behind the camera this week.
