Hello all........I'm new on here....what a great site.
When I was a lad I used to lamp rabbits here in the uk with a 12v battery and a 50w lamp, my dog looking down the lamp usually a good 100+ yards away. Over the years my main lamp was a clulite lazerlight...50w 12v. I didn't realise until of a late that led's have come on so much, so I bought a led lenser m14 which I thought was great, but really lacked a bit of throw at distance for the rabbits so I use this mainly as a walking aid with the dogs now. Well after twisting my wife's arms and using my big sad puppy eyes I was allowed to buy a clulite clu-briter, led hand lamp with in built 22mAH NiMH batteries, 3hr high beam, 20 hrs low beam. It's a good quality lamp, but I'm still left wanting a bit more throw, this apparently does 250 metres, but it doesn't feel like it. The is really really tight, never seen such a tight beam.
This has left me wanting to search again for the right torch, my budget is say around £100. I have seen the 800 fenix tk41 for £75, which seems a good price, the cheapest I have seen the 860 version 2 of this is £102.
So basically, I'm after a good throw lamp, beam not too tight as I have to follow a speeding jinxing rabbit, budget £100 ish, either battery(which ever you think would be best)....not much bigger than the fenix tk41 in size.....open to all makes.
thank you for your help
