I've had a Streamlight Syclone for a few years - it features a xenon incandescent/orange LED combo. It ain't perfect (incandescent beam quality is downright UGLY among other things) but it does have some virtues. My question is, are there other hybrids out there?

actually petzls duo headlamp now as a 6 led array for the low lamp power and the halogen for high power, it's really nice, i've seen it for 100 cdn at a camping store. also i found at the camping store these new black diamond headlamps, they make climbing gear and it seems like a early foray into the headlamp stuff but most of their headlamps are nice with a led as a backup. and some have that nice frosted reflector to give a even beam. their top models have voltage regulators for a even beam for the incandescent and led modules. Nice! here's a link i found for them.

You can prabably get hybrid headlights from $20 Streamlight Trident headlights to $200 Speleo Technics caving lights with LiIon batteries.
