Is there any place of interest for Flasholics? I mean a must see place, shops, factory? or even walmart?

I am also looking for a 12 V rechargeable search lights, not LSI!!!

Can I get tax rebate for shopping in California?

No, I don't think you will have tax rebate for as a tourist. However, you could mail order something from non-california vendor and have the product shipped to your hotel. Make sure you order before you go. You will not be charged for Sales Tax in that case.

no, there's really not any great light stores that i know of. your best bet is still the internet. although the REI in Manhattan beach is a really good store and Fry's electronics (which is just down the street from REI) has LED's, lots of electronics, and a decent selection of lights. Both stores are about 10 minute drive from LAX. hope this helps.

Hi Hairydog, if you visit REI, make sure to check out headlamps there. You could get Inova x5 at Fry's.

There are lots of places that carry flashlights. Heck, Fountain Valley is practically next door to LA (Home of SF). There is a Gun Show coming to Orange County where there are numerous SF and Flashlight vendors (yes you can touch and play with them, even the elusive 10X). Police Uniform shops are a great place to look for lights, although expensive. Turners Outdoorsman carry the SF line.

The Gun Show is the best though if you can plan to be here then. Next one coming to Costa mesa June 8-9. http://www.crossroadsgunshows.com/gunsched.htm#orange

can u tell me the particulars of the gun show? that is a must.

Any where is the SF sales office or even the fatory or showroom?

I am carrying my surge and scorpion as EDC.

generally speaking which sells flashlight cheaper? outdoor equipments shops or mail order?

Exactly when will you be in town and for how long? Also, where will you be staying, visiting, working??

Sending stuff to your hotel won't work. The vendor has to show that the merchandise was shipped out of state or out of the country. I went through a sales tax audit and had to produce UPS receipts. Are you visiting any other states on your trip??

The gun shows would be good to visit. I sell at about 8 a year. Also interesting if the timing works out is the TRW Amateur Radio Swap meet which is on the 25th of May which sounds too soon for you. Its held outdoors in a huge parking lot with about 800 to 1000 vendors. About one-third selling ham radio stuff, one third computer stuff, and one-third other stuff: tools, toys, you-name-it. They've been doing the show for over 30 years so they get a great turnout of vendors and buyers. I'm the idiot selling flashlights in the sun. Also sell knives, multi-tools, magnets and more.

Anyhow, let us know when you'll be around, we'll find all the hot stuff to do...literally. Fire season came early this year. We weren't done with smog season yet.

Sending stuff to the hotel *does* work. I do this all the times. Like I mention in my post, as long as you order from a non-california vendor and the hotel is located in California.

Hmm... , after re-reading your message, I guess you missed *non-california vendor* in my message

I am coming over at the 31 May. Tentatively a few days in LA and then to Grand Canyon and Yellow Stones afterwards. Typical Tourist Stuff.

Staying in the pasadena area.
