Hello Guys!

After years of collecting flashlights, i had many ups and downs.

There where many problems that forced me to sell flashlights and other
cool stuff, also some Spy's. In bad times i had only 5 lights in good times
70 and more.

But there is one custom flashlight that i missed the most in these hard days.

My Spy005! :candle:

As you know these lights got very rare these days. It was very hard and
along way to get some back (many thanks to Dirk and Russtang!). I do not
know much about flashlight engineering and technology, but i had a lot
of flashlights in my hand the last years. And the Spy005 is a real
craftmanship and of the most sexiest lights i ever hold in my hands! lovecpf

Thanks to Data for making this possible!

I have been on a McGizmo search as of late, but I'm with Toby about the 005's. I love the 007's maybe a little more but they are not as classic as the 005's.

Here's picture of four of my five Agents

Great thread Toby :)
Thanks Data :)

I gave my partner Photonfanatic's Little Killer and she seems quite happy with that. She prefers handbags to lights, fortunately for me.

Going back on topic, I have never possessed any SPY005s, but judging from the workmanship of my SPY007 and TRI-V,
I'm sure the SPY005 is a wonderful light. Its no doubt much lighter in weight too which is an advantage when pocket-carrying.

I agree with you Toby. That's why I'm looking to buy one on B/S/T. I've owned two 007s and a 005 in the past and I prefer the smooth, retro styling of the 005 as opposed to the angular, robotic look of the 007. I haven't had any interest from my WTB, so it's clear that others think the same way.

I couldnt agree more. When I first read about the 005 here, it looked weird. Impractical, awkward, just a gimmick. Switch on the front? How you gonna use that?!?! Another light that just had to be different for the sake of being different. Boy was I wrong.

I bought in the first run or soon after. It took a little while to get used to the ergonomics of it, but when I went back to a traditional flashlight, I realized the spy felt good and the other felt awkward. I had the orginal chrome knob/chrome reflector, bought a second one as a backup, upgraded both of those to stfu boards, and so on. Participated in the easter egg hunt, experienced the battery drain bug. Bought a bunch of scratch and dents, titianium 005's, etc. The only thing that took the 005 out of my hands was the Tri-V. I like the 007, but I prefer the lighter weight of the 005. At one point I had around 10 005's but I've sold them all off except my very first one. I wish I had a backup. One of my all time favorite lights. Two cells in such a small package. Great interface. Easy to carry. Perfect.
