I HATE MY OLIGHT!!!

Do tell. What is a real light? 700 dollar Prometheus?
Acebeam & Fenix to name just two. Either are well ahead of buying an Olight new. I do have couple of Olights but they were 1/2 price or less & one does not use their proprietary batteries. Like Glocks, Olights might be a favorite of yours but it's just another tool for me

I just picked up an Olight I3t 2. As far as a small around the house light running on an Eneloop AAA i really like it so far. Set it to low/high and the 5 lumen is good enough for low light situations and a quick tap to high mode and I've got more than enough light. Clicky feels good, build is solid. I like it. If I were to change something I'd drop the high mode to 50 or so to improve the runtime. But for how I've been using it, that's not a huge deal.

I like my Baton Turbo. Good little thrower.

As i like all my many OLights. My more recent lights i used a lot and still use are Wurkkos and a few have the complicated Anduril UI. I actually wanted it as it causes me to think. Only headache is when i switch to a light that uses a different UI.
Transition isn't as easy as i would like.

Nothing much has changed since my 1st reply. I have 4 Olight lights; a Warrior Mini 3, SR2 Baton II & 2 Baldr Pro weapon / laser combo. The only one I would even think about buying new is the Baldr Pros. But I didn't.

I carry the Wm3 often as an EDC light mainly because I got it cheap & it has a tail switch which works well for CW carry. The BmII was cheap 2nd hand also & gets used often when there is a higher chance the light isn't going to make it back cause I doing something near or in the area of stupid. Both are far from my favorite light(s) but they do work well enough I haven't given them away.

The Baldr Pro is a rock solid pistol / PCC / or shotgun weapons light / laser combo. It isn't something that really works for CC as it's on the larger size but on full size pistols & home defense tools it's hard to beat for it's price / performance. Wait for a sale or buy carefully used & you'll have a great light for a good price.

Yea I said something nice about Olight, not a fanboy just honest

My main issue with Olight is non- replaceable batteries. Buy once and throw in trash when battery dies. Dumb in today's world. But Olight likes it….

I like Olight. I probably have a dozen.

I do like lights with mode memory and a button that turns the light on and off with mode memory. I think the side button the warrior does on/off with mode memory.

Well you can have a bad battery replaced in a Apple Iphone that to me seems like a lot of work though people still make money doing it?
I'm sure an Olight Arkfeld could be disassembled and reassembled with a new battery at the factory?
But i really don't know for sure.
Kinda like when Victornox replaced the broken wood saw on my Swiss Army Knife. If it went together it can come apart and go back together again with the appropriate tools. Just a process that may not be worth it in the long run.

A lot of lights do that on some of their models. My issue would be proprietary cells that Olight uses. You have to hope they keep making the battery after however many years when you need a new one or the torch becomes an experiment on how to modify it to use regular batts.

Fortunately they do make normal lights that use common cells.

Honestly, if I buy a flashlight with an encased proprietary battery inside.... I just assume that once the battery can no longer hold a charge; time to chuck the entire light and buy a new one.

Olights proprietary battery is so the light / battery charges with the magnetic base. If you don't mind a normal charger standard batteries will work, at least in the lights I've tested. As for sealed / build in batteries .. HATE'EM. Only one I have was a freebie gift & even then it cost to much

I picked up an Olight Sphere and feel the same way. I like the light and functionality, but the UI is terrible! One press = on. Next press = change modes. Double-press = off. This is counter to every single light I own. Worse, there are so many darn modes that I'll often cycle past the plain white mode.

With how configurable it is via app, I wish they'd let you change this to something more standard, ie: press once for on, press again for off. Double-click to change modes. If they allowed this or switched to this more standard UI, I'd be able to recommend this light to plenty of non-flashlight people. The Sphere would make a great nightstand light...but not with that UI.

Now I remember, I did sell a Zebra Light because I found the functioning way too complicated, I also sold my Nite Core NU20 Classic (when it was not call Classic), I like flashlights that do have a very simple functioning.
