I just ordered a Novatac EDC 120p, RaTwisty 120-T, and the new Nitecore EX10. Ever since I first saw the RaTwisty, I knew i wanted one. With these 3 lights I cant really think of anything i could possibly need. Any fellow flashoholics have any idea where to go from here?

I'm all about funtionality and put that far above cosmetics. I have a small pile of Ultrafire and the like lights and have decided to get the real thing.

Edited, changed "chinese lights" to "ultrafire and the like"

Yep - now you need some rechargable batteries, AW sells some really nice ones, plus a battery charger, there are many models out there, I have a Nano and love it, its as the name implies, very small, once you are set up with those you then you can investigate a mothod of carry, there are many holsters out there, I have my 120P and a spare cr123a in an old leatherman sheath.
No point having a light if its not with you...

Oh, I guess i left that off, I ordered 4 more aw 123s (I already have 2 that i got for my H30). I also got a few primaries, I figure they would be useful when camping and i liked the case combo from battery station.

I guess the plan is to give my "ultrafire and such" lights to my friends to get them addicted. Or maybe sell a few of the ones i've modded to help pay for the latest spree. I have 2 ultrafire C2s that i put p7s in.

I never knew that this hobby could get this freakin bad. I've only been on these forums for 3 or 4 months now.

No HID, but i do have an aspheric mag and a couple hotwires (3d 12aa 623, and a 2d 6aa RoP like one)

Keep your eye out for the recently announced Ra Clicky. It is supposed o come out in August but if history teaches us anything I think it will be later like the early fall.

You are missing an HID. Neither an ROP, or 623 is as much fun as a HID when you have open space to play with.

hmm, HID is too much for now. Besides, the 623 has lit up any of the fields I've needed lit. (I know, it's partially a wow factor).

Back to the new lights i got, does anyone know of a nice holster for either of the 3 lights? I have a jetbeam jet 1 that i carry now and love it's holster. Is there anything similar for the 1xcr123 lights?

You got some pretty solid lights there. Have you consider getting custom lights? I have a couple of McGizmos lights and they're awesome! .

Also, have you consider getting custom mod lights? I recently got my Surefire L1 modded by MilkySpit and it's such a great, functional light. I wrote a review here. I know, I'm self-promoting, but this light seriously kick a$$.

I read that review, and something like that was a consideration. could still be. As far as full custom lights go, The RaTwisty was at the upper end of what i'm willing to spend on a light. I may build one for me one day, but i doubt i'll be buying a full custom.

You have already ordered 3 of the best CR123A lights. You do not need any more of them right now.

I suggest
1) waiting for your lights to arrive
2) use each of them for at least one week (3 weeks total)
3) make a list of what you like/don't like about each light
4) then look for lights with features you like, do not like.

Until you figure out what YOU want, you will be throwing money away.

Things to look for:
Size - all the lights you ordered are small short stubbies, Would a skinnier light fit better in your pocket? Would a bigger light be easier to hold for a car or houselight.
Tint - I am used to the tint of incandescent, candles, fireplaces. LEDs look unnatural to me. So when Dereelight introduced the CL1H v4 with a Q2 5A warm white LED a couple of weeks ago I jumped. Most LEDs make everything look white. Would you go from your colour TV back to black and white. You may want to look at incan hotwires. But you would not know if you want to until you have compared your new LED lights with your house lights.
Throw vs Flood - I like flood (can see a wider area) but almost all suggestions are for throw.
Brightness - There are very few suggestions for SSC-P7 lights because the bulk of them come from the 'cheap' shops in HK, China & ebay. The one I got was of adequate quality. But it is 3X brighter than the lights you ordered.
Do you want to keep buying or mod your own?

Looking forward to your next thread in about a month.

"Titanium"? I'm sure they function as well as the look...

You got some great lights with the ones that you mentioned... it is my opinion that they are some of the best available today.

I would highly recommend one of Enrique's Aeon's which might be available in Titanium and are becoming available in Aluminum. These lights are some of the smallest and best performing lights available on the planet. If you wear dress pants or just want to carry a smaller light, these are the way to go; I am blown away by their performance.

I would also urge you to consider the Surefire E1L, E2L or the E2D. The long throwing optic is a great compliment to the beam from the Twisty or the Novatac.

Custom lights are a great joy as well; they don't necessarily perform better than the ones that you have listed, but there is a certain pride of ownership and joy that comes from having a Ti McGizmo light or a Ti Aeon or Nautilus... for me at least.

I am very new to this, but would a Draco fit in there somewhere?

Looking at your collection I would say the one thing your are missing is a big ole beast of a light. I would get a c or d maglite and a malkoff dropin if you can or a light with a p7 or one of the three cree's.

3 expensive lights? You must be rich.

If you got the buck, the next thing is to buy primaries =)
