This light took about half a year to complete and another month to post about. It combines four hobbies of mine into one device: the main body started off as a seat post from a bicycle that I had cut off, knurled, bored, and threaded; the battery is an old Sanyo 2400mAH NiCAD Sub-C from my RC car days; home machining as the machining was done by me; and, of course, lights! It uses an optic removed from a Neoseikan drop-in, and an XP-G R5 driven by a Sandwich Shop Mad Max+ driver. The forward clicky switch in the tail cap is a Romison purchased from SB. I used a hole punch to punch out a round dot of diffusing film and placed it in the middle of the optic to eliminate the square corona around the hotspot and I sprinkled some G10 glow powder into the LED cavity before pressing the optic into place.
The knurling on the body was poorly done, but, it was the very first time I had ever used a knurling tool so I'm keeping it, flaws and all
An AA battery for size reference
The business end showing the diffusing film
The tail cap. The head and tail cap were actually made a month ago, but, the body was done last year
The major assemblies
The bezel ring removed from he head
And, finally, what the business end looks like right after turning the light off in the dark. In reality it's actually brighter than this
