I need to get three MC-Es (MCE4WT-A2-0000-000M01 WH tint, M-bin)
and I need 'em soon, anybody sell 'em in the U.S.?

I really can't afford to screw with Cutter right now.

I heard that Mouser or Digikey had them in different tints (cool, neutral, warm). The price is much higher (~$30 each), but it is fully available. I guess you may have to deal with a slight lottery of bin codes, but it seems worth it since you never know if Cutter will respond or react. I do not think that I can afford to buy more from anywhere else so I can have something in my hands soon. I blew my wad at Cutter. :mecry: Its a bummer for sure! Good luck.

I can only work with what is on a vendors website, mouser doesn't seem to carry Cree products and Digikey has MC-Es but no premium bins of any kind.

So that leaves me with kaidomain.
One problem: I can't use a star. How do I remove it?
If there's no epoxy or glue involved, I guess I could just hit the back of the star with a torch while the emitter is facing down and let it fall into a rag.

What say you?

I Emailed Amy at ledlightingsupply about M-bins and she said she didn't think they were being produced yet...but I got one in the mail a week ago so that can't be right.

I have a few more builds to do and due to my odd living situation (I work on a ship that's pulling into port soon...and leaving again for like three months) I really need to be sure some LEDs are on thier way here (Yokohama) very soon.

Thanks mds for this link, this seller seems to carry a very wide variety of optics.
$15 per emitter on whatever board you want
Even cheaper than DX or KD, isn't it?
Do they sell in small quantities, and what about shipping charges?
I haven't found any price on their website, does this mean you have to ask a quotation for each item you are interested in?

Yep, thier prices are great, just no premium bins. In fact, I'll probably get some LEDs from them to make lights for the home.
If I'm gonna tear into a $200+ flashlight though, I'll hang in there for the better bins.

Their mininum order is $50 all the time - I'm pretty sure they aim more for selling to companies or small businesses however.

True they always dont carry the highest binned LED's, but they are a great company and will work to suit your needs easily.

Might be OK, if I also order some AC drivers. I only knew the Lumidrives Microdriver and the Xitanium, but ledlightingsupply carry some more compact M&m drivers which look interesting.
What about their shipping fees?

shipping is not expensive - They ship through UPS Ground, so its about $10 or less normally

Thanks for the link, they also have some very compact AC drivers, and their shipping charges to Europe are reasonable.
But I don't like their price lists which are deceptive: for example on their constant current drivers page the first item (Power Supply for 1-3x 1W LEDs) is listed @ 5.90€, but in fact this price is for more than 50 pieces :(. The price for one piece is 7.90€ which makes a big difference. The same applies to all the displayed prices on their products lists, which is not fair IMHO.

Hi, the prices are not the cheapest, thats correct, but you get good quality and fast delivery and good sercice if you have problems (service - KD / DX??)

and see "DayTrade" there are other items every day with prices changed every minute and sometimes only a half of the offical price....

I have e-mailed Ledlightingsupply, and I did appreciate Amy's quick and detailed answer.
But unfortunately they have recently increased their minimum order up to $100. :(
