Hi, there, i have 20 CREES and i want to make a video light. So i would like to ask how close can i solder them and the most important is where can i solder them so that there would not be temperature problems????:mecry:

And the second questios is how to power them? From 3,6, 7,2, 12 or 14,4Volts? What driver any suggestions? I need runtime for more than an hour per set? Optics??

Sorry for the many questions i really need your help. Regards to all:broke::broke:

Optics are the way to go
These are nice -artifact free wide beam

LC1-M (diameter 21.5)

Not sure what you would power it with but maybe a couple of these would do the job

Looks like you could power 10 at 700ma with a 12V battery(or higher) at 89% efficiency with one of these drivers.

If you stuck them on a 10mm or more thick aluminum plate 110 mm X 90mm and had a big 12V computer fan stuck on the back of that -you'd have a beaut video light.

Cheers

You'll want fins on the back of that heatsink to dissipate heat better.
