Man, it was tough picking only 3. I guess i'll only be happy when i have seperate flashlights for each catagory. Except maybe the cheap ones.

One thing I find that makes a great light (incendescent) is having a spare bulb in the flashlight. That way you're not totally left in the dark, provided you can change the bulb in the dark.

That is when one of those tiny little keychain lights come in REAL handy.

I picked size to brightness, brightness, and ruggedness.

The ability to use easily available or rechargable cells would have also been on my list. Agreed with kakster.. gotta have a flashlight for each catagory. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Actually, I would call an icandescant/LED combo, a hybrid, not something like the Yukon HL, which is all LED, although 2 different types.

I happen to really love my Guide Gear 3C Aluminum 1 watt Luxeon flashlight, even though the beam is not absolutely perfect.

I see Long Runtime has a respectable percentage. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif For myself, runtime is very important. Getting a good balance between brightness and runtime for a flashaholic, is not that easy. Some that do achieve this, are the X5T, The Guide Gear mentioned above, and Lightwave 4000.
