Idea for Mag p7 thrower... Need input

I am wondering if anyone would be okay with adding ~4" to the head of their C or D cell P7 mag, in order to make it a better thrower (with probably almost no flood) (It all depends on if my tests are successful enough to make me happy).

If not many people are willing at first, I'll just make one for myself, then take pics. Keep in mind, this may take up to a year or more to get everything figured out, and in production, if things satisfy my high expectations.

Not exactly sure what you're planning. Are you talking about making a reflector that is 3-4" longer?
You'll get more feedback maybe in the Homemade and modified lights section.

A longer reflector should give more throw because it puts more light into the hotspot at the cost of spill.

A wider reflector will give a narrower hotspot.

Try the Homemade and Modified section.

Sounds similar to FM's deep reflector, it seems to work very well with a P7.

Yeah, That's pretty much what I was planning on doing, but 4" instead of 2", or something along those lines.

The 2nd option there, the FM3V-2 head, has a 3" reflector, not 4", but I believe it is the largest Mag-compatible head currently available.

Sounds interesting! Good luck! There is currently nothing being made specifically for the P7 configured for long throw, I had to modify a 2.5 throwmaster to accept it with good results but a 4 inch and deep reflector would make a much better thrower.

I might suggest doing very light orange peel on the reflector surface closest to the emmiter and smooth on the outter part to handle good throw with a nice beam like some of Mr. bulk's reflectors.
