Does anyone have any experience with the line of iGo AA/AAA chargers recently introduced? as visible on the opening page of the main iGo.com website.

I have little faith in rechargeable alkaline batteries, but the chargers are individual channel with uP control. even the 2-channel charger. and oddly enough, iGo is offering an 8 channel charger as well. The chargers seem low-priced. or is this an intro pricing to move product?

'Hold charges for 7 years' and no capacity stated. Ehhh...I'm not interested, but it's your money, spend it on what makes you happy. I'm already doing 'the green thang' by using rechargeables everywhere I can, so I'm not going to be 'guilted' into using a sub-par product.

You can get 3 four packs (12) of Eneloop 1500s for <$30 delivered and you can find a La Crosse BC-700 for ~$35.00 delivered. For $65.00, you've got a pretty pimpy setup.

Agreed on the batteries. However up until this unit, I have not found a two-cell charger for AA/AAA with individual channel uP control. For travel, I normally need to charge only 1-2 cells. hence the space saving aspect of this charger.

Are you talking about the black one with the blue circle below the bays, for $7.99 that only charges NiMH?

I couldn't find anything about it, except it has a LED that lights up when they're charged.

Honestly, at $8, it's not like you're gambling a whole heck of a lot. I suggested the BC-700 mostly because it's a pretty tiny unit, with not much of a bigger footprint than a man's wallet, albeit a thick one.

Even with the walwart, it packs up pretty small and works pretty well.
