I'm building a new TITANIUM flashlight, I'd love your feedback!

Nice.. my new titanium R8 just shipped.

(It's actually showing up today.. Jan.10,2025.)

It's here. Looks amazing. I'm charging the battery right now.

Still using the R8 every evening and (before) work mornings. Occasionally when handling dog leashes or something else, changing the grip on the flashlight will result in unintended activation of the rocker. Not the end of the world, just one aspect of this design.

After two times trying the "Tactical" mode, it is doubtful I will use it. Turns out I would get stuck in moonlight mode and have to unscrew the head to reset. Maybe others will not have that issue. Several flashlights I have used in the past have gone glitchy once in a while; some seemingly random but repetitive.

On standard ramping mode, I initially was having an issue with ramping down not going all the way to moonlight. This happened not too long ago but only once. Like I said, it may be my own personal electromagnetic dupplepluph; it's happened before with even expensive flashlights seemingly randomly misbehaving (but would happen at any time).

By the way, we had a full moon, and a snow covered ground. I shined this R8 on lowest setting on the snow that was shaded from the moon by tree foliage. I was surprised to see how close the R8 was only a little brighter than the moonlight cast. But I should mention that we are at 7200 feet elevation, it was in the 20 degrees F, with a dew point around 7 degrees, so yeah, the moon was quite bright. Enough light to play cards, I would say.

Hey great to hear from you, nfetterly!

It is interesting.
The designer, Josh, listened to us and made this flashlight so that the clip can be oriented any which way in relation to the rocker switch. The 5000K Nichia 519A emitter is simply lovely.

This is the first time I have had a tool with anti-reflective sapphire lens. It is really nice. Can't help but wonder if it transfers heat better than regular flashlight glass; sure seems like it but could be fanciful musing.

Let me put it this way:
For the really bright moonlight we have tonight, shining this R8 onto the snow in a moonlight shadow, it is about the same lux as the moon at approximately 12 feet away from the flashlight source.

So I've decided to make a post about my rampant r4 order on release day, I followed his design and manufacture process, at times I messaged Josh with questions and feedback based on his various updates. Anyway I found once the rampant arrived with me in the UK it wasn't really up to par with even the quality and finishing of say Lumintop, in fact my several Emisar look and feel better built and perform better. I emailed directly with my issues and they offered a replacement which was no surprise, as they always responded to previous messages, although I can trust it was actually Josh through instagram messenger. At this point in time, they have the original rampant returned to them, I have tracking confirming it was handed to resident last Monday, 9 days ago, after it took 7 days to ship across to USA again. I emailed them for an update as I could see it's been a week since they had received it. They stated they are still waiting on it to arrive before assessing it. I emailed again with proof of delivery stating that its completely out my hands and asking for them to put more care towards the purchasing customer that is still waiting nearly 6 weeks since money changed hands for the rampant. I have heard nothing from them since last week. I'm concerned, worried and now losing faith in the rampant, has anyone else been treated like this, am I being unfair? Pictures show inconsistent stonewash finish, poor alignment between head and body tube, and solder blobs on the gold positive contact inside the head. Beside that, functionally there were issues, button clicks weren't recognised and it would randomly switch to its tactical mode. I had the rampant for 3 days before I made the final decision to return it. My return shipping was refunded at least.
