I'm building a new TITANIUM flashlight, I'd love your feedback!

What's the price?
Depends on configuration and material.

Thinking if I get some Christmas money... the R8 in stonewashed titanium, with a Nichia 519.. will fall into my online cart.

Also ordered; 18650 size stonewashed Ti, sapphire glass, 519A 5000K. Comes with one Vapcell battery; can order more, including charger. Pretty exciting. Would not mind getting feedback on the SFT40 emitter. He also offers dedomed 519A 5000K for a warm cast.

Scroll down to get to the flashlights. R4 is the 14500 battery size, R8 is 18650. Aluminum also offered; love that bronze ano.

EDIT: Copper pill, lens, optics and other parts available.

I ordered the dedomed R4 for daily carry and the R8/SFT40 (both with Reflector and upgraded Saphire lenses) to keep in the truck. Should be a great combo

I'd like to hear the reports before buying. So was there an early buyer discount we didn't hear about?
It also sounds like DIY emitter upgrades should be easy.

There was a pre-sale discount code that was sent out to people that signed up early from Instagram.

Hey guys, just wanted to give everyone an update. Very sorry for not being able to have the time to give more notice on here. Things have been insane lately over here and I worked a full 36+ hour day / all-nighter to finally get everything listed. Still some weird listing issues I am working on but it's been exhausting!

We had a great launch (sold WAY more than I was expecting in the first 24 hours and I am working hard to reply to everyone, but if I missed you, I will do my best to get to you later from instagram and FB messages, I have had hundreds of messages.

Regarding pre order pricing, that is now ended unless you DM'd me to get on the list. If you were on this list and didn't get your exclusive email, please shoot me a message.

I am more excited than ever to get these flashlights out and they'll be shipping likely towards the end of this week and some orders may go out early the next week.

I want to say that this project was NOT easy, nor simple. It took a LOT more than I thought to get this over the finish line, but I am so thankful It's finally mostly done!

I am truly hoping that this light will be a game changer for high-end idc flashlights and I am so excited for people to try this UI and one of the first ever true titanium rocker buttons. Ive been using my prototypes for the past 1-2 years and am so thankful I finally get to share them with all of you guys.

Thank you again for all of your support and comments in my absence from forums. I am a one man+wife operation and 1 employee so we are just trying VERY hard to keep up. If you have any questions please post them here and I will check back in a few days and do my best to continue answering questions!

I know that design and engineering on lights like these won't come cheap. That noted, is there a ballpark price range available for these lights? I'm keen to acquire one, I just want to know whether doing so will require a bank loan. (Although lights with these specifications would surely be acceptable as collateral to any reasonable banker, wouldn't you agree?)
Aluminum variant starts at $115 (with GR5 titanium clip) and for the customization options in the future I think this is fair. Titanium variants start at $145 and go up to $175 starting if you want custom ANO parts and sapphire crystal lens material... You should be able to do some really cool things with these and we will begin doing emitter swaps for people in-house later for a charge of maybe $15-20. We will see how this goes.

I am hoping for this to be the most budget friendly ultra high-end flashlight on the market with more customization options in the future. If a really cool new emitter comes out, I plan on getting boards in stock for easy plug/play install in the future!

Thank you again for everyones support, this is something I have dreamed of doing for almost 10 years now and 2+ years in active development and more money spent than I want to admit trying to engineer and design it. I wouldn't even be able to pay myself minimum wage for the hours spent, but I am doing this because I love it and hopefully if people like it, future batches can help me invest in more cool features and options!

Looks like one has to be on facegram or whatever the kids are using these days.
So sorry for less activity on this forum. I am the only guy managing everything right now and posting on all the multiple platforms has been super difficult to keep up on. I will try to post more here in the upcoming weeks and catch people up on this periodically as well as future developments.

So far we have launched the lights, all units are in stock, but we need to build some custom options for each order, so we are going one by one.

You can grab one now while still available at https://exceeddesigns.com/shop#rampant but some options are getting very close to being sold out completely. I bought more of the stonewashed titanium so those should last for a little longer if you still want to get one.

Thank you again everyone for all your support, it means a lot. It's a dream come true to finally design something that truly fit exactly what I've always wanted in a high-end EDC light with a UI that was simplistic and really offered what I have wanted for 10+ years myself!

Shipping will commence later this week and week after, can't wait to hear your feedback once we get them all shipped out.

Also I totally forgot to mention all R4's work with AA batteries also, with less output of course (Tested around 500 lumens I believe vs. 1300+ with 14500) Need to add that to the website soon!

Here's also a fun photo the Rampant R4 I took with some fishing line strung from a level in my friends garage, turned out so clean!!

Also a photo of a test on the R4 14500 with the Texas Ace Lumen Tube, domed version of 519A 5000K (Battery wasn't as full, but I was getting peaks of 1300+ from time to time on BOOST mode. Also, may be closer to 1350 if I could cover all the light from escaping, but decided to share specs at 1300 because that seems fair considering I also checked the Fenix LD30 with a full battery which advertises 1600 lumens on Fenix website and it gave me a reading of around 1500 lumens.

The light is such a clean light, it's a truly enjoyable light to use.

P.S. We have 1500 MAH VapCell F15 14500's coming early 2025, I can't wait to offer those for sale, it's going to make a big difference for all 14500 flashlight owners.

Considering how much I enjoy using and carrying the Tyrant Razor V3, this may be a light a aquire in the near future. Looks great!

Sorry if this has already been asked/answered; How much of the manufacturing, machining, Ti/Al materials are sourced from China?

Customization in regards to anodization, some finishing work such as the silver stonewash and other customization (AKA the building of the light to customer specifications are hand-custmized in the USA / done in the USA + Designed in the USA but with Globally Sourced Components & CNC Work. (As stated on the website) (Some parts from Taiwan, Japan and China) I tried to run this by multiple USA CNC shops to take this 100% USA MADE, but nobody wanted to even touch it. We even reached out to 5+ different quality Chinese ODM's in the past 4 years and they also rejected it. I did find a company in China (who probably now regrets it due to my level of detail and perfection) who is helping with the CNC work as you mention specifically and they have a lot of experience and actually sell a top selling flashlight right now with very low issue-rate among customers so we didn't want to do everything ourselves and end up running into problems for a first time seriously complicated project like this (from a machining perspective) To do this custom design you need a very fancy Swiss machine and some VERY high level skill to get the button milled right. It is a nightmare from manufacturing perspective and way more work than ANY other flashlight. If we made this 100% in the USA including all circuits even the LED's won't be able to be made in USA since most all are Chinese made. The cost however just for USA machine work would likely be at least $300-500 (My cost). Right now we are pricing our R4 titanium at a base price of $145 which is insanely cheap for the design we went with. Some day if this takes off enough I just got a shop with 3-Phase power and hopefully we can bring some of this in-house at a higher price of $300+ but I really want to see if people even care about the idea first before investing possibly millions into equipment without a tried and true design and no experience I think would have been a recipe for disaster. I strive to keep as much as possible 100% USA made and we do have multiple 100% USA made products on our website, but this flashlight is a VERY hard one and I will share a few internal photos showing just how tricky this is. Tolerances have to be unbelievably perfect to get the gasket of the button to seal perfectly and the rocker to also align and work precisely perfect.

Photos below are one of the V2 prototype models we made before finalizing the copper-pill assembly. This was a whole new nightmare, but 100% necessary for better thermal heat shed coefficient.

I hope everyone likes it as much as I do. Personally it's finally just what I would want in a EDC flashlight. Nobody made something with the rocker and I have always loved the fact that you can move your fingers the least amount of times to just slide up or down with the rocker. It's my favorite way to operate a light after using this one for nearly 2 years through it's testing phases.

Here's a video of ramping operating in the dark with the Nichia 519A 5000K: https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/17890420461057626/

Also, another photo showing the complexity of this design and how it gets put together.
