I\'m here ... with some pics of my Spotlight mod...
I’ve been a reader for about 2 years but never posted and then tried to register for about 3 weeks now.
Well after an arduous task of trying to register with aol.com E-mail I have made it with My SKYWLKR.com E-mail….
I do have some Spotlight mods for you guys to check out.
The donor was a the orange 1mil CP from Harbor freight that the charging and switching electronics died with in 30 sec of getting it.
It is now the Frankenstein you see here now.
12V 10amp hour, with an 110w H3 moded and you can still use the factory charger (although no over charging protection yet).
The moded light throws a much wider (I can position the beam either horizontal or vertical) and a lot farther. It's very much brighter... and the corona fills the back yard with light and the spot is huge.
I started light modding back in elementary school when I built a flash light from scratch (TP tube, and Christmas tree light and a slider switch I made and some bit's of wire) I made a bulb and battery from scratch too but the bulb was too bulky and required more juice than my home made battery could put out. so I had a 6V on the Home made bulb and another small bulb of unknown specs on the battery.
BTW I'm a High School teacher now so that'll give you the idea how long ago that was...
