I\'m spreading the bug....

I am trying to spread the LED bug around at work!! I just got two of my fellow techs to purchase a Lightwave 3000 and a Petzl Tekka headlamp. These are the same guys that snickered at me when I first bourht the LED's around.

Re: I\'m spreading the bug....

I was LED when LED wasn't cool.......

I try to evangelize the "one true light" whenever I can, sometimes people think I'm a little bit crazy, though. My Eternalight Ergo-M would sometimes arouse people's curiosity, but it was quickly dismissed. My CPF Arc, however, has really impressed people, especially when compared with Arc Solitaires and those flimsy squeeze keychain lights.

I went to the doctor recently, and he noticed my CPF Arc. I showed it to him, and he was quite impressed by the size and the information I gave him regarding battery life and the life of the LED.

Some people just don't know the difference, though, and think an LED is just a tiny light bulb. When the CPF takes over the world, we will make them our servants....

Re: I\'m spreading the bug....

A few months back I had a friend ask me "what makes that (the Arc AAA) an LED light." Huh? My answer, of course, was that the photons were produced by an LED rather than incandescent, fluorescent, etc. Finally we got around to his real question: How the heck did LEDs get so bright?! He related LEDs with the green and red indicator lights we all know and love. LEDs should NEVER be white, of course. In his mind, if a source of light was "bright" and/or "white" then it could not/should not be considered LED. Seriously he thought an advantage of LEDs is that they could never be too bright. Needless to say, I sent him home with a shiny new Arc. He's probably still blinding himeself with it to this very day. He must have looked into the beam ten times when I gave it to him. Each time I think he expected the LED to be dimmer than the last time he looked...
