It's not ideal by any sense of the word, but it does work and the light is quickly detachable from the clip.

Any risk of it sliding out the bottom? is it secure for EDC?

It's a pretty tight fit, so there's no way it would just slide out, but it's only secured by the plastic piece's pressure on the light, so I would't say no risk. If you are going from home to the office and back, it's probably fine, but If you are climbing mountains or soldiering around in Iraq, you'll want to find another method of carry.
The part was $0.65 at ACE, so it's low cost to try it out.
