I've ordered an Ultrafire W139 and some AW18650 cells to use in my tk11.

Im going to need to charge them in my car while camping, i bought the charger from a UK store so i didnt get the cable that AW was selling in his thread in the marketplace.

Was wondering if anyone knows where i can get a similair cable to allow me to plug it into a 12V car socket, preferably in the UK.

And on another note will it take longer to charge the cells pluged into my car socket and what are the chances of draining the car battery if left to fully charge 2 cells.

No it will not take longer to charge and you're not going to drain a good vehicle battery leaving this rig connected for even a few days.

But leaving an active lion battery charger unattended is not a good idea for that rare occasion something goes wrong. Especially in a car which would be easily damaged or contaminated.

I think that it is possible to solder a 12V Car connector to the 12v input of the charger.

I was about to do that, nice to have a charger in the car.

If your comfortable with a do it yourself project, you could replace the input cable with a cigarette lighter plug. Of course making sure you get the polarity right.

NO, DO NOT DO THIS!! The imput cable is an AC Mains input only!! there's a seperate 12v input terminal on the side of the charger

Again, NO, DO NOT DO THIS unless you're converting the charger to 12v input use only!! The 12v terminal requires the 12v plug to be inserter to break the ac mains circuit, this way you cant have 2 imputs working at the same time.

lol i was looking at the charger last nite and noticed there is a 12V input on the side and then i read the back of it and it does say

input 1: 100V~240V
input 2: 12V

So how can i get this charger to charge my cells in the car, without buying one of those 12V DC to 240V AC converters

Thanks for the correction Lightforce. You are correct!

Bring your charger to an electronics supply retail store to find a comparable connector for the 12v input jack. Make sure the plug's Outer Diameter AND the Inner Diameter are correct.

With this jack you can make your own connection to the vehicle with either a cigarette light plug or hard wire into the system. If hard wiring, be sure to use an in-line fuse as close to the power source as possible.

Many cigarette style plugs have a fuse in the plug itself.
