I just got mine last week, and I've been removing the cells from the holder and charging them in an MH-C800S.
Yesterday I allowed it to operate in turbo mode until the beam was subjectively dimmer, then pulled the cells and measured their voltage under no load condition. This was a set of nearly new Eneloop knockoffs, and I measured voltages between 0.90 and 1.14v.
I'm guessing that I didn't overdischarge any of the cells by allowing the light to run down so far, but I also suspect it would be wisest to periodically measure capacities and ensure they're approximately matched, something I have yet to do with the 16 cells I've dedicated to the TK40. That's a little time consuming since I only have one C9000.
I love the light, though (my wife thinks I'm weird). The more I use it, the more I appreciate the beam. It's warmer than any of my other LED lights, and the profile somehow makes it feel effortless to see things. I generally actually use it at low or medium mostly, since the two highest output levels are too bright for closeup work.
