Just for giggles and grins, and not having a UCL lense as yet, I tried my 4x123+1AA WA01318 eye fryer with a clear (not scratched, no writeright) M*g lense. What a yucky double oval doodoo beam! I tried centering the WA. No significant change. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

I may lose some Lumens using Writeright, but the beam that results is very nearly beyond belief! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif

I still need to mod the Carley 1940 reflector and try it, but I also need to go find some more Writeright!

It is GOOD STUFF! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

PBJS.

Just one word for ya -- ACRYLITE!!! My tests on a light meter proved it actually passes the SAME AMOUNT of light as the stock Mag lens (the ones I have, anyway) yet cleans up the beam nicely.

This is a $6.°° investment well spent...

Playboy, I bought some WriteRight at Target a few weeks ago for a palm zire, I think it was around $10 or $12 for a 12 pack. I used it to smooth out the beam of a SL Clipmate and a PT Vortec.

Two comments:

1) get the writeright for monochrome PDA's . The kind for color ones doesn't work. It has to have the checkered microtexture to work. See pic below. Available at office supply stores and some electronics supply stores.

2) get the Acrylite here:

I don't know if it's proper to plug my B/S/T post in someone else's thread, but I've been selling 4 sheets for three bucks and still have some left.

Since people were asking I thought I would mention it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Neither Michaels nor Hobby Lobby had anything like that out where I could find it. And the one person I asked at Michaels looked at me like I was from Mars.

Email sent to Oktayama(SP?) on some Acrylite Lenses.

Quickbeam -

I gave up on that link because it's four deep to get to the information. My question is are these stand alone lenses or are they used in conjunction? Also, do you know if the gap problem has been solved?

Thanks.

IceBreak,

Two things:

1) stand alone

2) a new thickness (.06") is now available -- no gap!

3) (okay so what if I said two things) -- you have to buy Acrylite in 4'x8' sheets, like buying plywood or Formica. Then cut it. Perfectly. I'd rather get'em already-cut from someone laying out the big bucks for the entire 4x8 sheets, plus doing all the cutting work for me. As well, I understand there can be blemishes here and there, so I'd rather buy the lenses cut from the perfect areas...

Thanks, Mr. Bulk. -

Yeah, pre-cut lens would be best for me. I might get 2 or 3 lenses from from 32 sq. ft. of material.
