If one was looking to build/buy/etc a nice Incan these days what is the go to? I have various 2, 3 and 4 cell setups I can run as much as 2x18650/4xcr123. Could go d36 or d26. Or maybe something totally different.

Goal would be an hour of runtime and max throw/lumens…. Anything better than a m3 with the LF turbo head and bulbs?

Very nice. Any idea if there are replacement bulbs that fit available anywhere?

I am an oldy at heart, you could get an E series to lego. I know that lumens factory makes a bunch of E series stuff you can customize.

Something totally different + Run time + Lumens

I would suggest a Maglite 3C with 2x 21700 with this:

Or Maglite D-cell with this:

That's the one on my photo but with Cryoss tailcap with AW softregulator and that famous clip which i cannot remember the name and rare and hard to find FM 11V bulb
Looks like bulbs are in short supply. He's including an extra one but otherwise all I can find are the much less impressive TL-3. Any ideas for spares?

It's too bad tad customs went out of business. I did a 3C with 2x21700 like @konifans said. But I just popped in a tads 7218 bulb in and a smooth aluminium reflector and glass lens from KD. It's awesome and meets all your needs. I believe you can still find pelican bid D bulbs on the bay. The low bulb would be very similar. Long runtime, long throw, and very bright

Like vicv said; Mag 3C with FM G4 socket, KD aluminium reflector & glass lens. Phillips 20 or 30W G4 halogen. Run that on 2x 21700s & with an NTC in the tailcap to prevent the bulbs from blowing on full batteries (I learned that the hard way from members here). You can also use a 10W for more modest (but still bright) output & better runtime. Very practical setup with long throw.

With 7388 20W

I need one of those, G4 Mags are pretty sweet. Kind of bulky for an edc, tho. More conservatively, one might build a new e.

$7.20 Vapcell INR16340 T8 850mAh (x2)

$18.04 Susie's Flashlights E2 body

$17.85 Susie's Flashlights z52 twisty tail switch

$38.50 Lumens Factory Elite head

with
$20.00 Lumens Factory HO-E2R lamp

$101.59 + ~$20 ship
for 0.7A 110Lm 72 mins.

OR with
$20.00 Lumens Factory EO-E2R lamp

$101.59 + ~$20 ship
for 0.85A 150Lm 60 mins.

OR with
$18.00 Lumens Factory IMR-E2 lamp

$99.59 + ~$20 ship
for 2A 350Lm ~25 mins.

Fits in a pocket, and will look something like this:
