heya,

I'm looking at getting a new flashlight to replace my existing Surefire L2, and I was tossing up between the Surefire LX2 and the Inova Inforce colour.

Anyhow, when I read that the second run of Inforces were meant to be 200 lumens, instead of 125 lumens, I was somewhat swayed towards the Inforce's. However, I checked the website, and it's still listed as 125 lumens.

I rang up Inova, and spoke to a lady, and she said that yes, the second run was indeed 200 lumens. I also asked if it was just a change in measurement, and she said no, to her understanding they'd changed the product.

Anyhow, I'm just wondering, does anybody know where online one can purchase these new 200-lumen Inforce's? Everywhere I've looked seems to have the 125-lumen version. Also, I'm actually in Sydney, Australia, so I don't know if that makes things harder or not...

Also, any general comments on my choice of Inforce Colour over the Surefire LX2? (I actually am pretty happy with the L2, it's just the coloured LEDs are useful, as well as the slighty higher output).

Cheers,
Victor

FWIW: I have the color version (125 lumen) and, while it's okay, there is a small issue with it and I can't get the company to answer the phone or reply to an email.

Good thing I got it for free...

I have both the the color and the white and like them both very much. I have had only one glitch with mine but i was able to get it fixed. If there is a 200 lumen one i am also interested.

heya,

Hmm, every one I see on eBay or on online stores is the 125 lumen version (first batch).

Can't seem to find any mention at all of this 200 lumen run (second batch).

Any leads?

Also, I spoke to Pacific Rim, the Australian distributors for them, apparently they only have the first run, and they had some QC issues (waterproofing). They said they won't know about the second run till January 2010.

Cheers,
Victor

One thing I really like about cpf is it lets me know what new lights to run out and get...and which ones to avoid. After ALL the problems I read about the Inforce Colour lights, I held off. I have the 6v...and after replacing its O-ring with that from a Ray-O-Vac 3w AA light...I can finially turn it without two hands and frustration...but it is honesty not anything close to a special light.

I like rooting for Inova, but they need to up their game.
