After months and months of waiting, an Inova T4 found its way to my doorstep today.
I've been trying to stop my dependence on cr123s. It seems ridiculous IMO to eventually pay for a light, over and over again in batteries. The rechargeable T4 fit my bill--I already approve of the T3 system, and I'm thrilled that the T4 takes it a step further.
General specs and info on the T4 is found here.
Just an interesting sidenote; it appears flashlightsunlimited got the light first because both they and Inova have distribution centers in Rhode Island.
New in Inova's typically fine packaging. The T4 is in a bed of foam.
Bigger image (3068x1684)!
Here are all the parts, and a T3 for comparison. The T4 is bigger than I expected in length as well as diameter, but it's still pocketable, that's all I ask /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif. The charger is very durable; it seems to be some type of fiber-reinforced nylon. The battery fits very snugly into the body, eliminting rattling; the switch feels substantial and provides a satisfying click. The charging indicator LED is blue.
Here's a side-by-side of the T3 and T4's TIROS. The optic appears to be the same as the T3's. The emmitter can sort of be seen, and it appears larger in the T4--perhaps it uses the larger LuxV. (This picture just barely illustrates my point but I thought it was artsy and posted it anyway /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif) I'm happy my T4 did not come with a pit in the lens, like my T3 did.

Notice how the contacts on the light appear to be small and (probably) weatherproof. I'm relieved, they're small and discreet. You can also see the beautiful anodization on the body (see the fullsize for a real treat!). I will not confirm that it's HAIII, sorry, but I couldn't bring myself to cut at it.
Here are the beams at about one meter. The T4's hotspot is slightly wider than its little brother's, but there's really no huge difference. The Streamlight can indeed punch a hole in the T3 & 4's beam, but not by a terribly large margin.
Here's where the T4's brightness really shines (pun intended). Outside at ~15m it lights up a bit more area than the T3 (see tree on left) and certainly more than the SL. IMO it is a very useful beam, albeit there is a bluish tint, seen here.
It appears that Inova is continuing their tradition of producing the fine flashlights. At $99 with this set of features, you can't go wrong. Every component is TOUGH and was thoughtfully designed. There's no rattling, and the threads are well-fitted etc etc. The beam has a slight purple/blue tint, probably caused by underdriving a luxV, which I suspect the T4 uses. I suppose my only gripe is that, according to the manual, the T4 instantly shuts off (from full regulation) when the battery dies. The regulation must really squeeze all the juice out of the battery. I am pleased with this torch--it's my new, oversized EDC. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
