Hi Fellow Flashaholics.
Just recently found this site & just had to join up asap. Good to see that there are so many other flashlight lovers out there.

I have decided to get myself an X-5 - the new updated model with the tailcap switch. However searches of local sites & calls to local camping & disposals stores have borne no fruit.

I was wondering if anyone knows of Australian dealers who might carry the Inova range & if not, can someone perhaps suggest a dealer that I could order over the net from when the updated model is finally out?
Thanx for taking the time to read & appreciate any info given.

Hello challen21 and welcome to the realm of fellow flashaholics. To the best of my knowalge, the new X-5 has not shipped yet. www.tripleaughtdesign.com is taking preorders for this light at this time.
The X-5 is a good choice for a newbie. There are a lot of members here from the land of Oz. They can tell you where to buy.

Right at the momoent, the "new" X5 has not shipped. Emissive Energy tells me that that are "in production, building a working inventory, and should be shipping to dealers shortly". Sooo, it's hurry up and wait :-(

Welcome!

Just to let you know that anything that is slightly up-to-date in technology or the such will definitely NOT be available for sell in Australia.

That's the way it goes, it's just behind...

Hi Challen21,

Unfortunately yclo is correct. Jaycar have a few reasonably priced LED lights.

Maybe if there is some interest from others here, a group buy could be considered.

Hi Everyone
Thanx for the words of welcome. Also good to hear that there plenty of Aussies that are members here.

Yeah I have found that it isnt too easy to get stuff that is readily available or that we hear about from overseas. Thank God for sites like ebay etc & others on the web that do at least allow us access to some of these fantastic products that we wouldn't normally be able to get.

Yclo, I definitely agree with your sentiments, but think how much worse off we would be if we didnt have resources such as the web & this site.

Toby, I have checked out Jaycar, I'll probably end up getting a couple of keychain lights or photons if they have them there. They also seem to be a good site for some batteries with cheaper prices if bought in bulk. Do you know of any that sell the 123 lithiums at good prices?

Thanx for that site Phred, it certainly looks promising & looks like the site that I might end up going thru. I just hope that the updated model does come out reasonably soon.

At current,
the collection stands at:
Eveready Red Alert AA
Eveready Red Alert 2D
3D Flouro/torch combo
Angle head torch 2AA
Dorcy single AA
Mini Maglite
3D Maglite
Pelican L1 Led - white
Pelican SuperMityLite

Additions planned for the future
Inova X-5
A couple of L1's to have here & there
A few Photon microlights
A Surefire - probably rechargable model
Energizer 4AAA Double Barrel
Also sussing out Streamlights & I also want to see if Brinkman send their upgrade bulbs overseas cos their ones for the minimag sound like the bees knees.

Cheers for now

Challen21,

If you want a torch, get it from the US. Its at least twice as expensive if you buy it locally.

Make sure you purchase a couple of torches with each order so the shipping cost/torch is low.

Also you may want to get a couple of 6/8AA DBs before they disappear.

Hi Challen21, also have a look at the following led lights:

Arc LS
Arc AAA
Eternalight Xray Elite
Elektrolumens direct drive
Lambda Illuminator
Lambda minimag LS update pill

I don't have the Lambda Illuminator (too slow) but I am hoping I am one of the first 10 who will get an update pill.

I also want a Lamda Hydra but I don't fancy my prospects of getting one.

Have a look at:
http://www.arcflashlight.com You can also find a number of online dealers on that site who deal in Arc and other products.

For the Eternalight range look at:
http://www.techass.com

Elektrolumens is at:

Lambda is found at:
