Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew the size of the Inova X1 O-ring? I dropped my X1 face first and it quit working. So I did the "shove something in the battery compartment and bang it a couple times" method to fix it, which worked great.

The O-ring fell off though, and now I can't find it. Went to the local hardware store and all the O-rings I can find are either huge or tiny and the wall thickness was too thick on the one that mostly fit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated; TIA.

I have searched everywhere for you jiggy and I'm sorry to say I have come up empty with the fatory size o-rings. I'm sure someone will come along and be able to help you here. I have never broken an o-ring but am always curious what size the are. I would love to see a source with the size info on popular flashlight o-ring size.

I have an original style Inova X1 and rough measurement of the tailcap ring with a wooden ruler gives 1 mm thick (pretty thin) with an inner diameter of 15 mm. Hope that helps.

As far as the light not working, the o-ring should have no effect. The problem is that when you dropped the light, the battery dented the contact so that the button on the battery does not make contact.

Both of mine have this problem (thanks to the kids) and I have fixed both of them by putting a small spring in the recess for the positive contact. I cut the end off of a spring from a ballpoint pen. Just be careful not to lose it when you replace the battery.

Another option is to find a small magnet that you can place in the recess. Or, try to find a battery with a larger than average button.

greenlight & aggigrads:

The light works fine; I just lost the O-ring while tapping the light.

I've dropped my X1 into mud, full sinks, and many other places where it was fully immersed in water.

That's my only concern with missing the O-ring. It's always right there in my pocket and I reach for it no matter what the conditions are. I don't want to pull it out of a mud hole and not have it still shining brightly because I was stupid and lost the O-ring.

Thanks lots for the measurements. Hopefully they haven't changed the ring size for my model.
