I just received an Inova X5 today that i ordered a few weeks ago and i have some protected Ultrafire 880mAh 3.6v RCR123's and i'm just wondering can i use them in my X5 or will they fry it?
Thanx very much

I tried a couple of 3.6v rechargeables in my X5 and it didn't like them at all. One of the LED's did not light. I thought I had fried it. It was only on a couple of seconds. When I put the 3.0 volt primaries back in it seems to work fine. I would not recommend 3.6v batts. They are also a bit to long.

I just put some 3.0 rechargeables in my X5, funning (I mean running) just fine right now. I'll leave it on awhile and report back.

Thanx very much for the replies! I guess its not really worth giving it a shot then is it! The ultrafire 3.6v's are a little bit longer than normal 3v so they probably wouldnt fit then.
Cheers!

.....I run mine on a 17670 cell, it is no problem but not quite as bright as on 2x CR123's. I use mine for close up work anyway so it doesn't matter.

Left it on (post#3) for 45 minutes or so, ran just fine. Didn't heat up, batteries are the same length as primaries. Bought them from Lighthound.

I have used 3.2V LiFEPO4 batteries from AW before, no problems. I does get a little warm, but no ill effects.

I have never tried 3.7V Li-ons because it is direct drive and could damage the LEDs...
